Taxon
Taxon is a brand new, up and coming card game. It builds on the Terrible Lizards concept, the combat and some of the cards might seem a little familiar, but Taxon is an entirely different beast.
You will play the role of beastmaster, amassing an army of creatures and doing battle. The game requires patience, with cards going into play over time rather than the moment you play them. If you are a master tactician with a penchant for battle, you're in the right place.
The Track, Crown, and Command System
The Crown is the first new mechanic. The player with the Crown determines who goes first at each phase of the game. There are even cards that have special abilities if you have it! Hanging on to it can be tricky, but might be worth it. It'll be up to you to figure out it keeping the Crown is worth spending your resources on, or if you can afford to risk being at the mercy of a cruel king.
The Track the new way cards enter the game. When you want to use a card, you can't just play it immediately. You deploy it into the track first. Each turn, cards proceed along the track. Once they reach the end, they enter play and take effect. This means that your enemies can see what you have planned before it happens, but you can see their schemes as well. Playing responsively is extremely important in Taxon. Cards are deployed in Track 1, then move to Track 2. At the end of the next turn, they advance to the Active Track, and all players use their cards at the same time.

The Command System is the last new element, an additional card that gives each player access to new abilities. Players will gain Influence each turn, and Influence can be spent in order to use Commands. Players will be able to express their own unique playstyle using Commands, and create combos that would otherwise be impossible.
